Vocational Assessment:

Testing and observation to evaluate a person's skills, abilities and interests as they relate to the work worlds.  A 2-4 week assessment consists of both hands-on industrial training and interest assessment.  This program is recommended as a first step in preparing and planning future vocational needs.

Work Adjustment:

Participants are placed at Key to learn industrial skills as well as good work habits and proper work behaviors.

Job Readiness:

This program is a combination of both Vocational Assessment and Work Adjustment and is usually provided to students for an entire semester.  Students receive school credit for participation in this program.

Work Services:

This is employment for participants at various ability levels who are not currently ready to work in the competitive market.  This training takes place at Key and at various community work sites.  The development of proper work skills is continually stressed to include everything from clocking in to being able to handle personal breaks.

Job Placement:

Assistance is provided to qualified individuals who express interest and display readiness for community employment.  Help is given with resume, application, and interview preparation along with supported job search.  Job-coaching may be available to assist and support the participant with job training.

Job Experience Training:

This offers participants an opportunity to experience the needs and demands of working with an employer in a retail or agricultural setting.  Participants learn tasks and behaviors by working directly with department managers.  A Key Opportunities staff is on-site at all times.

Work Hardening:

Serves worker's compensation cases by offering a therapeutic return to work program.  By offering a work training option, participants are able to work within their restrictions and benefit from increased activity and interaction.  Referrals made by insurance agencies and/or employer of record.

Transportation:

Provides transportation possibilities via routes throughout the county Monday - Friday, specialized rides to persons eligible through various funding sources, and once a month trips from Hillsdale to the Walmart Plaza.  Most transportation is work related, however, other services are available.  Call for information or to schedule rides.
